How GoSosh uses AI
GoSosh uses AI — but not the way you’re probably expecting.
We don’t have a chatbot. We don’t summarize what people are saying for you. We don’t make up commentary. We don’t send your tracking interests to OpenAI, Google, or anyone else. The “AI Powered” sticker on every app in 2026 means almost nothing — usually it means “we pay another company to read your data.”
What GoSosh actually does with AI is more specific, and we think more useful.
On-device intelligence — your tracking stays on your phone
Every AI feature in GoSosh runs on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence’s on-device language model. No accounts. No servers seeing what you’re tracking. No “your interests help train our model” fine print buried on page 14.
When you use GoSosh, nobody outside your phone knows which topics you watch, which stocks you follow, or which conversations you’re tuned into.
That includes us.
Where the AI actually shows up
Knowing when five sources are talking about the same thing
The Cross-Source widget shows you what has multi-source confirmation — “five sources are talking about this.” That widget only works because GoSosh recognizes when “OpenAI launches GPT-5” and “Altman unveils new model at developer day” are about the same event, even though they share zero meaningful keywords. Whether you’re tracking a tech topic, a stock event, a sports trade, or a niche conversation, the on-device language model catches the connections a keyword filter would miss.
Surfacing who’s actually being talked about
The Most Mentioned widget — the names you see ranked with counts — isn’t a frequency count of words. It’s an entity extraction pass. The language model reads every item’s title and snippet, identifies the people, companies, and organizations being discussed, and ranks them by real volume across sources.
That’s why “Apple” doesn’t get inflated by sentences like “an apple a day,” and why “Tim Cook” gets credit when an item refers to him as “Apple’s CEO.”
Quiet Movers — the early-signal widget
Topics rising in conversation volume but not yet at the top of the feed. The under-the-radar item now that might dominate tomorrow. This combines the same entity extraction with a volume-delta calculation to find signal with momentum that hasn’t broken through yet.
What GoSosh doesn’t do
- No chatbot. No “ask GoSosh a question” experience. We think those are mostly demos that don’t survive contact with real use.
- No AI-written summaries. We don’t paraphrase what’s being said. We send you to the original source every time.
- No hallucinations. Because we don’t generate text, we don’t make things up.
- No cloud LLM calls. No OpenAI API, no Anthropic API, no Gemini. Nothing leaves your device for AI processing.
The principle behind it
We use AI where it does something a keyword search can’t — finding semantic relationships across the things you’re tracking that you’d otherwise miss. We don’t use AI to replace your judgment, your reading, or your time with the original source.
If “AI Powered” makes you skeptical, you should be. Most of the time it means a chatbot bolted onto a feature that didn’t need one. The honest pitch for GoSosh is more boring: small amounts of AI, applied to specific problems, running where your data lives.
