Frequently asked questions
How do I start the free trial?
Open GoSosh, complete the welcome flow, and tap Start 7-day free trial on the paywall. The trial begins immediately. There's no automatic charge — after 7 days the trial simply ends, and you can unlock Plus with a one-time purchase if you want to keep the extra features.
Do I need to cancel anything?
No. Plus is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — nothing renews and there's nothing to cancel. If the 7-day trial ends and you haven't unlocked Plus, the app just returns to the free tier, and any dashboards, topics, and alerts you created are kept and restored the moment you unlock Plus.
How do I restore my purchase?
Reinstalled the app, or switched phones? Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall (or in Settings) and your Plus unlock comes right back — it's tied to your Apple Account.
How do I add a card?
GoSosh opens on your Daily Briefing. Tap the sidebar icon in the top-left to open your cards and add a new one for whatever you want to track. It then shows up across your Briefing widgets — Trending Up, Cross-Source, Quiet Movers, Talk of the Town, and Most Mentioned. Scroll down within a widget, or swipe left to the next one.
Why aren't my cards updating?
Cards refresh automatically (daily by default). To refresh now, pull down on your Daily Briefing.
If a specific source is consistently returning no results, the upstream service may be down or rate-limiting. You can also try disabling that source temporarily in Settings → Sources.
Where do I get a YouTube API key?
YouTube source requires a Data API v3 key from Google Cloud Console. The free quota (10,000 units/day) is plenty for personal use. Step-by-step instructions and the signup link are in the in-app Settings → Sources → YouTube section.
Why don't my cards sync to my other devices?
GoSosh syncs through your private iCloud account. To sync between devices:
- Both devices must be signed into the same Apple ID
- iCloud Drive must be enabled in iOS Settings → Apple Account → iCloud
- GoSosh must be enabled under iCloud apps
Sync usually completes within a few seconds of a change. If it stays stuck, force-quit GoSosh and reopen.
Is my data private?
Yes. GoSosh has no servers, no analytics, no tracking. Your cards live only on your devices and in your private iCloud database — we have no way to see them. See the privacy policy for the full story.
I think I found a bug.
Please email don.bonaddio@gmail.com with:
- What you were doing when it happened
- What you expected vs. what happened
- Your iPhone model + iOS version (Settings → General → About)
- A screenshot if useful
Bug reports go to the top of the priority list.
I want a feature that doesn't exist yet.
Tell me about it. The product roadmap is shaped largely by user feedback. Common requests on deck: sentiment scoring, more sources, and pagination for high-volume topics.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple directly via your Apple Account. To request:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find GoSosh in your recent purchases
- Tap "Report" and choose the appropriate reason
Apple reviews refund requests case-by-case, usually within a few days.
